What’s the age range for Rain or Shine Camps?

That’s a good question. We think 6-11 is a good age range, but we’re flexible. If somebody has a 5-year-old brother that wants to come along, or a 12-year-old lady has some friends already on the trip, by all means sign ‘em up!


How do we get there?

There are two places where parents can DROP OFF their kiddos:

  1. Colonel Summers Park at SE 17th Ave and SE Taylor. The van will DEPART promptly at 8:20 A.M.
  2. Wallace City Park at NW 26th Ave and NW Raleigh. The van will DEPART promptly at 8:45 A.M.

At the end of the day, ALL parents will PICK UP their kids back at Colonel Summers Park at 4:00 P.M. (pick-up times may vary depending on camp).


What’s the adult to child ratio?

At least 1:6.5. We have a maximum of 13 kids that go on any trip, and we always have two camp leaders. And sometimes we take volunteers. All adults will have had background checks.


Is lunch included?

Unfortunately, with differing dietary restrictions and the logistics of making thirteen lunches, five days a week, it isn't feasible for us to provide lunch. A packed lunch is required. The kids will be active throughout the day, so throw in some extra snacks and a water bottle as well.


We like to think our camps are so awesome that this would be impossible. *Ego check* But if we don't get at least five sign-ups, we'll either reschedule the camp, combine it with another camp on another date, or give you back your pass to use anytime you wish. We'll give you a 24 hour heads up! 

What happens if not enough kids sign up for a particular camp?


There is no charge for rescheduling as long as it's done at least 48 hours in advance. If it's within 48 hours, you will be charged for your pass. Please email info@rainorshinecamps.com with questions or concerns or if you need help rescheduling. 

What if I want to reschedule? 


I know you guys are named Rain or Shine, but what if the weather is REALLY bad?

We like the rain, but not always. This is where the locations-are-subject-to-change thing comes in. Our first choice will be to change the camp to a place/activity that is more weather friendly. But if we have to cancel, you will be able to keep your passes for a future camp. We will always communicate with parents before we change the schedule/location. 


Talk to me about allergies and medication.

Please let us know if your child has a medical need or allergy of any kind and what medication should be administered in case of a reaction. Provide proof of prescription if there is one. And we'd appreciate if a parent or guardian would pass the medication to a camp leader first thing in the morning.


Prior to June 1, you can get a refund on passes minus a 5% fee. After June 1, there are no refunds. The pass system we use offers parent and kids a lot of flexibility. You can reschedule to any camp you want, but all passes must be used before the last camp of summer.

What's your refund policy?


Umm... Let see... Locations, dates, times are subject to change. Any sort of violence or hateful speech is not tolerated and is cause for exclusion from the camp without refund. You MUST sign a waiver before your kiddo can join us on a camp. No cell phones or electronics allowed. And if you have any further questions, please contact Michel at info@rainorshinecamps.com.
